Why foil may not suit others
A trussed roof in a 1970s Northampton house is not a loft-room candidate; the floor gets 270mm of wool and the trusses stay clear. A straightforward cold loft with good access is often more appropriately upgraded with conventional mineral-wool loft insulation than a rafter-level foil system, and we say so when it is.
