Cost bands

Indicative installed cost ranges are compiled from published UK cost guides (Checkatrade, MyBuilder and merchant pricing), cross-checked against installer input, and expressed as wide bands per m² and per typical property. They were last verified on 2 September 2026. As anonymised quote data from this site accumulates we will publish it in place of the compiled bands, by region, property type and measure, and say so on each page.

Funding status

Scheme status is taken from GOV.UK and Ofgem and reviewed at least monthly or on any material change. Each funding page shows its reviewed date. Closed schemes are marked closed and left visible so out-of-date advertising can be recognised.

Technical claims

U-value targets are taken from the current edition of Approved Document L (England), as amended, and are subject to transitional arrangements that depend on when a project is notified and what it involves. We state which figure applies and recommend confirming it with building control. Our source hierarchy for technical and regulatory material is: GOV.UK and the Approved Documents; Ofgem where a scheme is involved; official certification bodies and product certificates; the manufacturer's own technical documentation for its product; recognised technical organisations. We do not use other installers' blogs as the basis for technical claims. Moisture and ventilation guidance draws on the government room-in-roof best-practice document and the Energy Saving Trust. Product performance is taken from third-party certificates, not manufacturer marketing.

Expert review

Guides making suitability, moisture or Building Regulations claims are checked against the primary sources listed on the page by the InsulationMatch Technical Editorial Team before publication. Where a genuine named specialist has contributed to or reviewed a guide, their identity and credentials are shown on that guide. Editorial policy.
